The key was obviously put in the wrong box. It could eventually still show up if the person who accidently got it doesn't wear size 8 running shoe.

Perhaps look into just who is responsible, the seller doesn't want to replace an item sent or deal with USPS, and USPS doesn't want to deal with any responsibility ether, what does USPS have to show it was delivered to YOU, just in this limited discussion many have had thing never show up yet delivered to the local postal facility , as well as many receiving items not addressed to them, do the details of the sale state the seller has no responsibility after item is shipped?
