My husband just had this very same experience there a few weeks ago. One nail in the tire. They said they had to inspect the car. He thought maybe a general visual inspection. They take it back and then he noticed the hood open and they were removing one of the filters. Then he saw them put up on the lift and start looking at the underside. He went over and asked what they were doing that he just wants the nail taken out and tire patched/plugged. They said it’s policy to inspect. He didn’t want them touching anything else. Who knows what they’re doing? He didn’t feel right about the situation. And he suspected they would tell him he needs 4 new tires. He immediately told them to take it down off the lift and give the keys back. After some heated back and forth with the service manager he got the keys back and left. I can’t remember if they charged him for anything. He went to another place. They took a look at the tire and had no problem fixing it with a plug. He’ll never go back to Colony Tire Choice.
