If you allow them to adjust your thermostat a few degrees when they have heavy demand you get a small discount but also they took off $ 50 on the last bill to say thanks.
Will see if this will make our house uncomfortable in very warm weather so we do have the option to discontinue.

This is the RESIDENTIAL LOAD MANAGEMENT RIDER on page 17.
$50 for initial enrollment then $10 for the winter season and $20 for the summer season if you remain enrolled. It says adjustments may only occur between 6AM and 10PM and the maximum allowable hours per season is 80 hours. The rate tariff doesn't mention how many degrees they can adjust the thermostat.
How do they get access to your thermostat? Mine is not on the network so would they replace mine or would I be ineligible until I replaced it with a wifi-enabled version?
Or do they implement this like our MD service did? There they installed a radio-controlled switch on the power to our outside unit which allowed them to disconnect the power during periods of heavy loads. I don't recall ever noticing the temperature rise so I don't know if they ever utilized it but we still received the credit.
