Colorado, it kept the concrete from being damaged by the magchloride they would put on the roads in the winter. Helps in cleanup from the occasional spill of fluids and dry chemicals. There is a purpose besides "just looking nice". I would not have coated the driveway and garage just for atheistic purposes.
I guess some like oil stained driveways and garage floors. Not my kind of art work.

5 neighborhoods and 15 years we have never noticed oil or stains on naked driveways. Friends just had their driveway done for $10,000, still get tire marks a color debris from roof. Myself I find many deco driveways tacky. At least the lights you can turn off. Driveway is forever
