To me, a rescue mission would have been put together as quickly as possible and would have been outside the normal mission schedule. I wonder if a true, emergency rescue mission was refused and the XXX reasons looked more like $XXB. Sure, a company would certainly accept several truckloads of money to be a hero but is that the best use of NASA's money if the astronauts can do good work while waiting for a non-emergency, scheduled mission?

I thought the astronauts chose the saver option. Musk has had things blowing up of late. Not sure when these failures were happening though.
