Irrigation Pressure Breaker Frozen
Those of you that use potable water for irrigation (North) probably have a vacuum pressure breaker near your irrigation valves to prevent backflow. This is the valve that has the insulated pipes that come out of the ground and then back into the ground.
There are three of them in our neighborhood that froze during the night and were leaking badly.
If you find this to e the case, you can isolate the valve by shutting the two tee handled valves in the line. This will just isolate the irrigation system and will not affect the inside water supply. Rebuild kits are available if you want to repair these yourself or your irrigation guy can repair or replace this valve.
New valve $80-$100 not including installation---Repair kit about half that.
