My mother was raised Catholic as she is of Irish descent but became Lutheran after falling in love with my German-American father. I do not really fall into any category of religious beliefs. I used to do a lot of church hopping in Reno, Nevada. A very charming black man had been chatting with me in front of the Philosophy building at the University of Nevada Reno about the meaning of life and such and invited me to meet some people with similar interests. I quickly told the first speaker that he was full of it as I soon realized they were with the Unification Church. I did need to severely curse them out when they kept harassing my parents over the phone.
The charming black man was the head of the Unification Church for Northern Nevada. Mr. Jerome Childress.
I had gone to various Catholic services around Reno, Nevada as well as Lutheran ones. And was kicked out of the Moonies for asking too many questions. They did try to lure me in with a promise of maybe getting to know a very attractive woman who was there in the house near the UNR Campus.
