The delivery was scheduled to our address, per FEDEX, so that's why I believe the FEDEX driver was part of the heist, probably a percentage cut, to drive by the house, stop, not get out of the truck, fake a signature and keep the phone. If we didn't notice the delivery in the email blizzard, we wouldn't not be looking for a FEDEX delivery and he could stop, sign as delivered, and continue on, and the GPS tracking would validate the delivery.
I refused a delivery once two decades ago, and didn't sign. . . The delivery man signed as delivered and kept the product, and i got charged. don't remember what the item was, but it was a computer part of some sort.
Freedom depends upon trust, and many fraud prevention / trust supporting efforts are being eliminated in the current environment, and scammers will be having a field day.. . . so it's only going to get worse. .
you have to think like a criminal to figure out their scams. . helps with lots of corporate fraud training.
