For me, they have detected 2 leaks in my house that have prevented major water damage. One was a leak in the garbage disposal and the other was a leak in the water heater expansion tank. That's half the battle right there. The exacerbating issues are not being there (snowbird) when the alarms go off, and getting the water turned off, again while not being there.
