It is freecycle.com a great way to help people who are getting their lives together and in need of the most basic items. It is also a good way to get rid of things you no longer want or need. If you have things to get rid of check it out and help somebody rebuild their life.
Hi Sunny,
We've been members of our local Freecycle group for several years. It's purpose is to keep things out of landfills.
We've given away many things and received several things as well. It's not necessarily a charity organization. We look at it as a way to find a home for perfectly good items we've accumulated over the years. Rather than chuck them out or have a yard sale ( I lack the patience for these) I list them and usually someone is happy to have these things.
Here's a bit of their official propaganda.

Welcome! The Freecycle Network™ is made up of 4,873 groups with 6,892,000 members across the globe. It's a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns. It's all about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills. Each local group is moderated by a local volunteer (them's good people). Membership is free. To sign up, find your community by entering it into the search box above or by clicking on “Browse Groups” above the search box. Have fun!
