They suckered you into a bundle. So in order to get the internet-only prices, you have to use them ONLY for internet, and nothing else. You also have to do it before your contract term expires - within 30 days of expiration or else you'll have to pay a penalty for early opt-out. You ALSO have to wait until there's a promotion in your area, and ask to talk to someone in Customer Retention if the person who answers the phone says they can't help you further.
It's a bit of work on your part. But saving $40/month means saving $480/year. That's a month's worth of groceries, or several nice meals at the better restaurants, the cost of a new lower-end laptop computer, or a weekend trip to St. Augustine including hotel, gas, meals, and tips.
