if you are talking about SECO's "net metering" I can tell you what I think I know, and I wouldn't be shocked if someone smarter told me I don't have it right.

My understanding is that the "net" meter will measure not only the energy you are taking from SECO, but if you have a way of producing energy, like solar panels, that energy can be fed back into the SECO line, and measured by the meter.

So I you produce 20 units, and feed that back into the line, and you use 100 units of SECO energy, your bill would be for 80 units.

SECO installed such a meter on our home in Poinciana, and I was not charged anything for it. The installation is what triggered the door-to-door solicitation by "Freedom Pro", with possibly an offer to fill my roof with panels and put the juice back through the "net" meter..

Another way it might work is that Freedom Pro puts all of this stuff on your roof, and they own the juice, and what you get out of it is a lower rate for the juice you used. I'm not clear on exactly what the deal is.
