A tip is what you get at the race track.
A gratuity is what you give someone who has gone out of their way to make your experience exceptionally memorable ... in a good way, that is. Calling me Hon (hun?) and telling me to have a blest day
hardly counts as making my experience "exceptionally memorable" in a good way.
