Default Windows XP
My latest computer came pre-loaded with Vista - I had requested XP but the store told me Dell wouldn't allow it to be sold that way.

The OS itself was easy to use, but it failed to work with my scanner (HP scanjet 4400c) or my fax software (Winfax) so I ended up ditching Vista and loading an old version of XP.

Apart from the time taken to bring XP up to date with all of the 'fixes' it has worked perfectly.

I should like to try Linux but I'm scared my older programs/peripherals won't work with it and, not being a computer expert, I'd forever be on this site getting you guys and gals to help me out :-)
