Has anyone bought a new bed frame lately that doesn't need a box spring but yet high enough where it's not a struggle to stand up out of bed?
Also would be nice to have frame high enough from the floor that my zoomba can get underneath it.

Yes- definitely - the lower beds are not for everyone. We like the low profile (minimalist) look. And to move in quickly, we bought a metal put-together frame (similar to what “Purple Rain” posted below on Amazon, but was only 6-8” high). Too short either our 10” mattresses so we added risers (also Amazon). They are stable but I don’t like them.
After 3 months, we find the mattresses are NOT supported and our opinion is the metal platform frame was a bad idea, even for a short period.
Today - we will put together our new (real) platform bed which is also a low profile look but is 11” height. We will add a Bunkie board (Meliusly on Amazon) just in case it needs that extra support.
Bottom line: I would pass on the metal platforms. As far as height, you control the height by adding the mattress at which height works for you (in combination).
A benchmark I use: I measure the seat height on a sofa I find it easy to get in/out of - that is the *lower* starting point of where a bed may be at a comfortable height. It is usually a few inches higher than that for the bed. One idea is to try out beds at the furniture stores and measure their heights so you get a real feel of what is too low/high. Although, we found local furniture stores put very tall mattresses on their beds for appearance/sales. So it’s not just the bed but the mattress combo that one wants to consider.
