2. The past month June is a very high cooling month. I have a spreadsheet covering the past year electrical energy costs for a 2800 sq. ft. designer. The average for past year is $99.5 per month and the heating/cooling average is $33 per month. June had 84$ cooling according to SECO breakdown. YMMV

3. IMHO you are over estimating electric energy saving by not using energy costs versus total bill include service charge and trying to use June as a typical month rather than using a calendar average rate over a whole year.

My guess is that your savings for June were more like $39 and the average over a whole year might be about 0.40x $39 = $15 to 16 per avg month.
I did a more exact analysis to respond to you:

As per my Seco bill:
1st 1000, 0.119400 PER KWH USED
OVER 1000, 0.14790 PER KWH USED

I used 1,400 KHW for this July bill period so,
1,000KHW x 0.11940 = $119.4
400KWH x 0.14790 = $59.16
Total: $178.56 (This doesn't include the service charges)

Given last July, same bill period with the same number of days and similar temperatures, last year may have been a little cooler.

If I used 350KWH more last July's same bill period, using the same rates for comparison,
1,000KHW x 0.11940 = $119.4
750KWH x 0.14790 = $110.93
Total: $230.33

$230.33 - 178.56 = $51.77 savings.

Of course there can be some discrepancy on the exact temperature last July compared to this July since this July was a very high cooling month as you mentioned, but given nothing else changed in my home electrically except the HVAC system, and assuming the rest of our habits using electrical devices in our home are relatively the similar, this is a good estimate of the savings at least for this July. As far as yearly savings, I'm going to document the data for each month to see the real savings at the end of the year.

Cost savings is only one part of the equation. I am finding the comfort level both temperature and humidity is noticabily superior to my old single stage unit and the level of air purification since the system runs longer is noticabily better since I have allergies. I'm not feeling those temperature swings like with the old system.

Also, hopfully, give the system is variable speed and not full On and full Off, over time it should last longer with less needed repairs. But we will see. Given I got the full 10 year labor that goes along with the 10 year parts, that won't be a concern but it will be interesting to see what actually happens.
