I had the same desire, which eventually forced me to grow my own. Now I have heirloom Cherokee Purple in abundance and taste wonderful. Best time to grow is late August (plant seedlings) and harvest in November. Can also plant in March and harvest in June. The time you can’t plant is summer. Humidity brings out the bugs and they won’t set fruit when it’s above 90 degrees.
You’ll need to put in a raised bed (can buy kits online Garden Tools, Planters, Raised Garden Beds '+'More | Gardener'''s Supply ). Make your own soil with peat, char, worm castings, compost, top soil, Black Kow. All can be bought at Lowe’s. You’ll grow fabulous divine tomatoes.
