If it’s tendon damage and you wait too long they can not repair the damage. It well not fix itself over time.

Also if it is muscle heat is needed to bring more blood to the muscle. If it’s nerve damage use cold because using heat will bring more blood to the area and that can cause more nerve damage because of the pressure from the extra blood.
