I recall when we first moved here: I was at publix buying a few things and had purchased one of their twofers--Pepsi in the large bottles, I think. I remember commenting to the checker that "that pop is pretty good deal".
The checker looked at me and grinned. "You're from the north, aren't you"?
I haven't really heard the generic "coke" for any soft drink around here, except at Cracker Barrel a few times.
