Is there a village that tolerates RVs and boats for a day or two at time, or perhaps a storage yard that accommodates DIY maintenance and repair on boats and RVs?
First and foremost, check your deed restrictions. Remember why you're moving to The Villages. It is neat and orderly. There are rules and restrictions to maintain the look, aesthetics, and property values. If you performed maintenance on your boat and RV on the street where you lived before, it doesn't mean that fits here. Imagine if EVERYONE brought all their boats and RVs to do work on them in the driveways or in front of their homes? The Villages would be an absolute mess! It would not be The Villages anymore..it would be every other town we all left behind. That being said, I sold my boat and RV when I moved here. I purchased another RV recently and store it at a covered and powered facility. I'm allowed to do light maintenance on site. I would encourage you to look into a storage place that allows you that flexibility. Message me privately and I'll tell you which place I use. Lastly, I would NOT follow anyone's advice that tells you to arbitrarily park them out front for 3 days, that it won't matter, blah blah blah. A lot of those people are NOT Villagers and would love to see The Villages degraded. Check your deed restrictions...please.
