After conducting some analysis I am going ahead on this. It will save me taxes kind of like a Roth IRA. I put aftertax funds into the 529 plans and they grow tax-free. My taxes are ridiculously high, especially with added NIIT and AMT. Also this will reduce any future estate taxes as 529 plans are considered outside an estate. Still stuck with IRMAA though. Bummer!
