Went golfing and lunch with one of our friends. She told us the story, was going to Odell to pick up her husband there. Came upon the accident shortly after the crash. She saw the man on the road and parked and got out of her car quickly. There was a small group of people looking at the injured man but NONE of them went to the man to comfort him. She went to him and held his hand, talked to him to comfort him and tell him that help was on the way. They exchanged names. He said he was 82 and had some surgeries recently. I think she said a hip replacement or such and other maladies. She stayed with him until the ambulance came. He told her to tell the crew to be careful placing him on the gurney as he is in pain. I think he asked her to call his wife too.
SHAME on those folks just looking and him from a distance and not going to him. SHAME. If that was me I would have chided those folks royally. grrrrr
