So I watched a YouTube video that showed how to pull the cover off, remove the ignition coils, pull the plugs, and then install/reassemble everything.

Cost of plugs - $11.00

New plug socket to remove/install the plugs - $8.00 - Unfortunately, the two 30 year old sockets I had wouldn't work. They were fine on my old Nova...

So for about an hour of my time, I saved $480.

For tires? BJ, Sam's, Costco. Best price, free rotation/balancing. Hard to beat that.
Agree. But I willing to bet you’re saving was lot more than $480. If had dealer do it?

Required or recommended? If it not broke I don’t touch it. Especially spark plugs in aluminum heads. But, that’s me.
