I believe the facts. What I don’t believe in is the fear mongering.

It really bothers me are attempts to scare people into spending their money. Roof replacements aren’t all bad, water filters aren’t all bad, fiber internet isn’t all bad, extended warranties aren’t all bad, and LPSs aren’t all bad. What is bad is presenting the scary facts to frighten people into running out and making purchases but not providing the balancing facts that they should also be considering.

13 homes burned in the past year after being struck by lightning but 84,900 homes did not and over 70,000 did not burn in the last ten years. Either very, very few homes get hit by lightning here or few lightning strikes result in fires.

Losing a home is tragic. A LPS can likely save a home that would otherwise burn. But not all homes will be hit and not all those that are hit will burn.

Why do people insist on making claims without looking them up first, do they really think no one will check? Proof by emphatic assertion rarely works.
Confirmation bias is real; I can find any number of articles that say so.
