But we rail against only the workers what about the employers who profit on the backs of these people?

We have laws on the books which require employers to check for citizenship or a green card before hiring. Many don't.

I am for immigration reform but we need to look at the whole picture to resolve the problem.
I fully agree with cracking down on employers. While not all illegals are being taken advantage of,many are. The elimination of 'anchor' babies will not happen since it requires a constitutional amendment and I doubt you could get the support of 2/3 of each house of congress and the approval of 38 of our 50 state legislatures.

According to the 2008 census, there are approximately 4,000,000 US citizens that are the children of illegals. Splitting these children from their parents is a nearly impossible task. They are US citizens and have the right to live here even if we choose to deport their parents and illegal siblings, if any.

As you noted, we need to be realistic about the situation. Most estimates put the number of illegals at over 20,000,000. Before we start rounding people up we need to determine where we will house them, how we will identify their home country, how we get their country to agree to accept them back, how we will feed them and provide the necessities of life, accommodate all the legal appeals and transport these people back to their homeland.

Then we would need to help deal with providing the necessities of life for the equivalent of three Haiti's. I'm not sure it can be done but I am sure that if we embark on this course of action, we will see riots that make those following the MLK assassination look like a walk in the park. We must find a better way.
