Do they make relief valves for 80 PSI? As mentioned, although the water dept. is supposed to regulate the water pressure, I still think it's a good idea to install a pressure regulator so just in case, if the pressure went up for any reason from the street supply, the regulator would protect you. But you are right, if you want a failsafe system, a relief valve would do it but I've not seen one installed in this type of applicaton.
