& now Keegan has him playing with DeChambeau. He's actually won with DeChambeau as a partner before, but I think it's an awkward team.
I think Scotty suffers from the exact same affliction as Tiger did, in these circumstances. They're both so good at getting into that singular focus mentality, they struggle when they're "teamed" with someone else and their focus is divided.
For the last 25 or so years, the USA Ryder Cup has taken the approach of emulating the Europeans. They've tried to create a "friendly, team atmosphere", with a group of guys who spend the other 50 weeks of the year, trying to kill each other. That approach hasn't seemed to work.
Maybe it's time to take another approach. Bring a team of gunslingers, in the Ray Floyd, Lanny Wadkins mode and let them take no prisoners, friend or foe.
It's hard to turn tigers into lions. Tigers are lone hunters, lions are pack hunters. Tigers don't change their stripes.
