Are you talking about an electric cart (you mentioned a speed controller), if so, be sure to take a look at the sensor on the accelerator pedal as well as any linkage. I had previously helped a friend, and we found the original sensor (a potentiometer) had failed, then after the replacement we had problems with the linkage, and the controller finally failed, at a cost of $1000.
At the time he could NOT find anyone that would work on the cart (a California based street rod). I am hoping that some of the independent service people have started to branch out to the other carts.
I have used Todd Casey for our Yamaha cart, and was pleased with his work.
