We are also ready to go back to a Minivan. We had two Chevy Astros and loved both of them. They ran forever, and never needed anything other than minor maintenance. The Astro was unique... unlike any SUV or Crossover, I could get a full 8 X 10 sheet of plywood in the back if working on a project, or carry eight people all while getting over 20mpg overall. Unfortunately, GM discontinued them.
I am not sure any US manufacturer makes a true Minivan at this time. Unfortunately, car body styles seem almost to follow the whim of what is in "fashion". Nothing beats the Minivan for versatility.
Regarding the Kia, my neighbor has one and they love it. Honda is supposed to be the highest rated, but they are also the most expensive from what I understand. Maybe the folks from GM or Ford will read this and get their act together (I have it on good word that they monitor this forum... ha, ha!).
Ford does make something close, but it looks like it is just a small work van.
