I told him that he should not judge a movie by its title and that this one is not a chick flick.

I have never, in all these years together, given Mr. B. any reason not to believe me and so he said OK.

So we left our igloo and away we went to the movie theater to see this movie with the pretty title, From Paris with Love. This movie about thugs and drug dealers and terrorists. Oh my! And the two good guys who kill them and kill them and kill them.

Not only is this thing not even remotely a chick flick, but there is not much dialogue, at all. Nothing ever really gets discussed. Or maybe there is more dialogue but it can’t be heard over all the gunfire.

But somehow the violence in this movie did not bother me. It is spun without much blood and I did not see any gore. And almost everybody who gets it is really bad.

And besides, John Travolta is as cute as ever. The only thing I did not like was that there was no dance scene for him. I was hoping.

So even I liked this movie OK and I hate violent movies.

And when I looked over at Mr. Boomer, sitting there beside me, in the dim, romantic light of the theater, I could see how happy he was with the movie that I had picked. He just kept smiling. And that made me smile, too.

And then, right in the middle of the big, obligatory, chase scene, where John Travolta is climbing out of the car window and aiming a huge weapon at the bad guy’s car, Mr. Boomer leaned over and whispered lovingly in my ear….

It was the sweetest thing. So sweet……

Mr. Boomer whispered to me, “That looks a lot like an M-72 LAW he is using.”

And then we went out to dinner at a pizza place and Mr. Boomer told me all about M-16’s and M-79’s.

So girls, maybe you and your Valentine can go see this movie together, too.
