Need Input Re: Alaska Trip
The ferry is an excellent suggestion, but.....
Driving is also an option. The Alaska Highway has some fantastic scenery. The small towns along the way, Dawson Creek, Fort Nelson, Watson Lake, Whitehorse, and Tok offer accomodations from which you can explore. In Alaska, Fairbanks, Talkeena (Denali), Anchorage, Seward, Homer, and Valdez offer great sightseeing. The Highway and roads in Alaska are easily drivable in mid to late summer. Gas, food, and lodging are readily available. It's a once in a lifetime trip. Buy a copy of the "Milepost" for a detailed view of the Alaska Highway and businesses along the way. Watch out for the bears, moose, caribou and Sarah along the way!
