I was hit by someone just like X. I was in the left lane going straight and she decided to turn left from the right lane (instead of going straight). And she rammed into me. The arrows in my lane (left) pointed to a left turn or straight. While the arrows in her lane (right) pointed straight ahead. So, I was baffled when the policeman did not issue her a ticket. She had clearly rammed into me!!!
Now those of you on this board that know me, know I had quite a few choice words for her and the cop. He was very polite and handed us both brochures. What! A brochure! Really???? She clearly made an illegal left hand turn! I pointed the arrows out to him, which he replied were "only a suggestion". OMG! How nuts is that????
Well, when it came to insurance time, I was completely vindicated. The woman's insurance had to pay they said "because of the police report!" I was very happy, as she kept saying I hit her. The only way I could have hit her is if I was driving sideways!!! hahah! Anyway, I'm very leary in the roundabouts now and thank you to the officer (for putting up with my rage) and writing out the accident report correctly.
Hope this wasn't the same person as your "X". We had $1865.00 in damages, but at least HER insurance company had to pay it!
