Heard the exact description, a LOUD boom in the middle of the night. Woke me up, and I searched the entire house for what I thought was someone crashing into the home. Found nothing. Now wondering if I should be contacting somebody.
There is also a test bombing range used by the Navy or Air Force quite a way from here but it often produces "Booms" that are quite loud when heard from here!
