The transponders send a reply with just a digital number. In the IT department, they will need a new database linking that number with who has that transponder.
Oh, and they could use existing SunPass, EzPass, etc transponders - at zero cost to residents. They are just a thing which replies with its serial number.
The transponders are designed and intended for use on the inside of the front window. Might fail in the weather here. They are designed to rip apart when removing them. That should deter theft because it won't work.
The meetings I have been to have got the same response "we don't want to do that" or "we can't do that" or "that's not in the scope of this project" for using construction mode.
Apparently they don't care and would rather waste a few million dollars. After all, it's not their money.

It's stuff like this that makes people suspicious. Is someone getting a kickback or something.
It's getting harder and harder to trust these people when they're so closed-minded to other suggestions and spend our money like drunken sailors.
Has this technology been put in place somewhere else in the state or country with high success.
I'm not even sure attaching a decal or sticker or your headlight is legal.
Honestly, this sounds like a half-baked rush job.
