It's getting harder and harder to trust these people when they're so closed-minded to other suggestions and spend our money like drunken sailors.
Has this technology been put in place somewhere else in the state or country with high success.
I'm not even sure attaching a decal or sticker or your headlight is legal.
Honestly, this sounds like a half-baked rush job.

Trust is very easy to go away when there are loud examples being presented as being a "well researched and state of the art" decision, when even an idiot can see through the lie.
UHF RFID transponders have been around for years. They are well known for longer range operation (much better than the present stuff) and they are used all over the place. Not sure about this manufacturer. The technology is what SunPass (and the others like it) all use.
It's actually the same functionality as the present system, but the difference is using a higher radio frequency. That means a much smaller antenna on the transponder will perform a whole lot better; hence the better range.
If it can be argued that the transponder interferes with the headlight in any way, then it is not legal. Will it generate a ticket - unlikely. Will an overzealous cop decide it's reason enough to pull you over and then try to search your car (remember you have nothing to hide) - more likely.
Not rushed. Been in testing for a year-ish. Perhaps the selection, and logic used to decide it's better to spend a lot of money was rushed. Or simply done without good thinking or considering alternatives. Tunnel vision?
