Which championship course would you recommend as a "must" play ?

Thanks.....
I don't think any of the courses are absolutely "pristine" at this point, due to a cold winter, and issues with maintenance which Villages is working on. But Lopez has been in pretty good shape, as has Cane. Forget Mallory - played there the other day and the fairways are still pretty rough. I haven't played Palmer lately so can't comment, but it is usually maintained at a higher standard (and higher cost to play).

But, re-reading your post, in May I would think all of the courses should be back to good shape, if we get rain and warm weather. Cane was in really nice shape last Fall,, so you may want to consider that. If we get a lot of rain, Glenview is under water, so I'd skip that one, although in the dry season, Glenview is always nice to play. Mallory has been having issues with their greens on and off all year, so I'd scratch that course unless things improve. And Palmer of course, is a beautiful course. So in no particular order, for May, I'd say Palmer, Cane, Lopez, Glenview (depending on rain conditions). Have fun!
