There is no such thing as the Historic Village. The three villages east of Highway 27 / 441 are quite commonly called the "historic district" of The Villages because they were the original parts of The Villages. Yes, most of the homes there are manufactured homes (not trailers or double wides). A lot of people love that area due to the mature landscaping and low or no bonds. Yes, you can rent homes there or rent out your own home. The three villages in the historic district ore Orange Blossom Gardens, Country Club Hills, and Silver Lake. Homes there are not the newest, largest, nor most modern in TV but there is a brisk market in resales. Your plan to buy there at a lower cost while you look around for a few years is viable but maybe not your best option. Explore other options (i.e. renting) and then do what suits you and your tastes and your budget. As long as you are in TV, you probably can't go wrong.
