I made up a File of Life based on the form that the Marion County police gave to me when they visited my house to give me a rundown on their job responsibilities and to welcome me to the neighborhood back in 2001.

I made up one for both me and my wife using an Excel spreadsheet and have them in a plastic folder on the front of the refrigerator.

When I had to call 911 for my wife, I handed them that form and they were able to get all of the information for their file. That gave me more time to check on my wife without having to remember the medications, etc.

I also created a wallet medical card with the medicines and pertinent information that I seal in plastic and we carry with us. It is great when the doctors want the medicine info.

I verify the information on both of them on a quarterly basis.
