Just a few more questions for you all before she comes.
Besides the utilities and cable, what other tasks should she plan on accomplishing after closing? I know she can't get my ID until I come down in June. She will have her hands full with furniture being delivered, etc. so I want to be sure she has all her bases covered.
Do the fine folks of Bonita have their own organization or get togethers? I have read where some of the villages have golf league, pickleball leagues, street parties, etc. Is there a contact for any of these type activites for Bonita?
We will need a golf cart at some point. Since we will not be full time residents for a while, I assume gas is the way to go? I think right now a used cart should do us until we get there fulltime in about a year or so. Your input is appreciated.
I am an avid racquetball player up north here, so I am hoping to transition to pickleball. I am thinking Pickleball 101 and 102 to start. If there is any Bonita guys that care to instruct me when I get there, that would be wonderful as well. I really want to learn this game.
How about bug maintenance? Is this a do it yourself option with commercial over the counter spary bug killer or is it best to hire it out or a combination of both?
How about snow removal...of yea, don't need that one anymore!!
Thanks again to all the folks on the forum, Cindy and I look forward to meeting all our neighbors near Goliath Place, and that's funny to since we are both only 5'4"...lol.
So on May 28th and a few days after when you see that very pretty gal with the shiny black hair, yes it's real, no chemicals, just yell to her "Hi Cindy" and make her feel welcome. She is about to bust at the seams waiting to get down there. She's been my bride for 42 years and Bonita will be our get a way paradise. I hope to meet you all real soon..

Hi Tom & Cindy

I am so excited for you! I can tell from your post how thrilled you are and should be!
One thing that was new to me is that the lawn services does the weeding, plant maintenance and pest control (indoor and out)-- but does not cut the grass. You will need someone to cut the grass since you will not be there full time. (I made the mistake when we first bought of thinking our lawn service did this. Go figure.) Ask your neighbors for recommendations as there is probably someone who is regularly in the neighborhood to cut the grass.
We also are not full time residents and have a house watcher, Dee Parsons (Redwitch) who is terrific. We are very happy with our used Yamaha gas cart. Dee takes it out once a month for a drive if we are not going to be there for a month, which is recommended. While having a golf cart is not a nessity, it sure is a pleasure to have in TV.
Y'all sound like wonderful people and I can't wait to meet you one of these days.
All the very best to you!
