Where insurance companies make their money is on auto insurance, that's why they advertise for auto but not homeowners. The state keeps the companies from gouging homeowners by approving rate increases (e.g. State Farm fiasco). Get a wind mitigation inspection for the best discounts. Company's website will give you agent locations.
Travelers Insurance does business in Florida as "First Floridian", a wholly owned company that prevents Travelers from going bankrupt if hurricanes wipe out many of their Florida clients in one year.

Yes that is a good web site, with good info....
we have had State Farm for many years now for home and car. Luckily we are one of the policies that State Farm is not cancelling. But we are shopping still. But great info on the website for insurance.
