My little rural city of about 2k has sidewalks in the downtown section and every fall a huge vehicle (about the size of the waste pickup rig) drives through the streets sucking up all the leaves so no one slips and falls on the city streets. It sure is an efficient way to get rid of all those autumn leaves
Definitely a lot smarter than just blowing them around!
