You and I are both old enough to remember (and, possibly, still live by) the convention that the male was
always listed first! So, that doesn't surprise me!
As an extension to this discussion, does any one have more than their own and their pets' names on their cart(s)? Mine bears "La sottise d'Etienne" on the left and "Steve's Folly" on the right. These follow my penchant for naming my vehicles. As you may gather, the right translates the left.
