You can't walk to the stores, but you're talking probably a 15-min golf cart ride or 5-min car ride to get your necessities. At the same time, you aren't by an incredibly busy street, you'll have great neighbors (not that you wouldn't anywhere else here), you'll be near a golf course and, more importantly, Cane Gardens is right around the corner (my vote for the best burgers in TV). I know several people who live in St. Charles. They couldn't imagine living anywhere else in TV -- they love their little corner of Paradise.
I don't care where you live in TV, there will always be something that is an inconvenient distance from your home. I live right by the Morse gate and 466 -- I don't really have a grocery store close by (Sweet Bay is about the closest and it's still more than a hop, skip and a jump) and I better make sure I have enough gas to get to the gas station because I'm never going to make it on fumes. Basically, I'm pretty centrally located for wherever I want to go in TV but nothing is really convenient. Works great for me!
All it means is a little planning. I love Fresh Market but it is a distance from where I live. So, if I happen to be going to Wal-Mart or meeting friends for lunch or dinner out that way, I include a stop to Fresh Market for sourdough bread as part of the activities. Ditto Sweet Bay for their chicken wing bar. I'm not going to just drop everything and go to these stores but if I'm in that neck of the woods, I will certainly grab my treats. Unless you happen to live right by one of the strips or town squares, you're going to have drive to get to them.
So, as I said previously, it really is a minor hindrance rather than a major inconvenince.
