[Boomer]

When we redid our kitchen in Ohio, the plan was to use all Electrolux appliances. The kitchen is really small, and at the last minute I realized that the handle on the Electrolux dishwasher might block a drawer from opening. It was going to be way too close, anyway. So we needed a flat front dishwasher and Electrolux does not make one.

And so....we bought a Bosch.

Oh my goodness, it is a wondrous machine.

But if you get one, you might need to know that at first it could cause one of those little marital spats. It might go like this....

The Scene:

(Boomer is sitting on the couch in the family room which is right around the corner from the open kitchen. The couch is maybe 15 feet away from the dishwasher. Boomer is watching "Castle." Meanwhile, Mr. Boomer is sitting in his chair reading "Flying" magazine.)

Boomer: Hey! Why didn't you start the dishwasher?

Mr. Boomer: I did start the dishwasher.

Boomer: YOU DID NOT START THE DISHWASHER!

Mr. Boomer: I DID SO!

Boomer: YOU DID NOT! I am trying to watch "Castle." I guess I have to do everything around here.

(Boomer gets up off the couch and goes into the kitchen -- stomp -- stomp -- stomp over to the dishwasher where she looks confused when she sees the dishwasher display is lit. She leans over and puts her ear close to the lovely stainless steel door.)

Boomer: nevermind
