Wasn't it the Obama administration that give that particular rig a safety award just last year?
Deep water drilling in itself is a risky process but one that has been pretty much mandated by the left and environmental wackos.
A rig closer to the coast would have had the safety valve above water level instead of a mile down.
If they'd let us drill in places like Alaska we won't have these problems in the first place.
