C is the best answer. Followed by D.

I check before I responded so I would not get caught with my foot in my mouth.
Son-in-law was the first thing that came to me.
And guys do notice dirty floors. I remember going into a Longhorn Steakhouse in NC (where they throw the peanut shells on the floor) with a friend and he looked a little upset. When I asked him "was there a problem?", he said the floor was filthy. I explained to him about the tradition of tossing the peanut shells on the floor and then he was okay.
Also, there is dirty and there is DIRTY. It's a man thing.
