Back in the early, mid 60's the Democratic party was in fact a party that was diverse and a party that cared. I left that party in the early 70's because of what they were turning into.
They have completely gone the other way. They are now controlled totally....the groups that vote Democratic will support anything that they are TOLD to support. They now appeal only to the entitlement group which by the way is huge in this country.
Believe it or not, with all its faults and they have many, the Republican party has become the party of different ideas within the party.
