He must perform a daily eye test (for the rest of his life) to check for any signs of further deterioration of his vision.
The greatest gift we can offer someone dealing with a chronic eye condition is to let that person know that they have our support 100% and that they will not be alone with their struggle.
Since Glen gives much more than 100% to his radio and television audiences each day, I am requesting that we keep Glen in our thoughts and prayers. If you would like to offer any words of encouragement on this thread please do so.
I will notify him of this thread.

I agree Annabelle, this is not a political discussion. MD is very serious, my dad has had it for the past 20 years and is now considered legally blind. He is, however, 94 years old, but in his 80's that was the only thing that was wrong with him, he was going blind. It is no laughing matter, and not one that should be considered as political.
The daily test he has to take is to look at a grid every day and to let the doctors know when the lines in the grid get wavy, because then they can perform some laser treatment on him to slow down the progression of this disease (I hope I'm correct, after all I'm not a doctor but was just a concerned daughter). Unfortunately, my father never was able to get the laser treatment but he copes with his blindness like no one I have ever seen in my life. He is fantastic but I do not wish this disease on anyone, it is very sad indeed.
Good luck, Glen, and I do hope you do not have the disease or at least that it is slow in development.
