we bought a cottage close to shopping for an ailing sister of ours thinking she could live easier and cheaper than the left close and that we'd be down there within a few years too.
She then bailed out and decided to stay in CA, so we put it up for rent.
TV friends then encouraged us to get a larger place for ourselves 'one day' .
We looked at a few listings and found an older premiere in an older area at what appeared to be a good value - never even saw it - we had the friends look it over and take a few extra pix and offer an opinion.
We had a local agent make what we thought was a nutty low offer and we were surprised they took it.
We're renting that one too more off than on, and staying a few weeks (in 3 to 4 day trips) a year at both places when empty.
When full we stay with the friends.
We then found a giveaway deal on a place 'touching' the villages with several acres and room for all the toys, but someone rented that for a couple years so the toys will have to stay north.
What's our attraction?
The biking - some of the best pedalling anywhere and great people with whom to ride
When we make the bigger move the larger iron will be heading south too.
