I was raised in a liberal family, I was a liberal in college ( ever wonder why most students are liberal?), and a representative to the state democratic convention.
Once I got a real good paying job (lawyer) my politics went 180 because I was working for a living and viewed the fruits of my labors as my own.
I do view myself as a tea party conservative now.. very conservative.
My point is that your politcal positions often reflect your position in life.
Selfishness is seen from your current perspective.
People profess religion but refuse to live it because it conflicts with their politics or their current economic condition. Religious liberals will get you every time with "What would Jesus do?" if you are a church going person.
I know why liberals think the way they do, and their stated motives to help all people are admirable.
Politics are not that simple.
I did not do nearly as well as other lawyers who charged what they could get. I charged what they could pay.
The bush lovers comment was to show you will never get away from the poisionous dialogue.
As a very conservative person when Bush was president I was VERY disappointed with him. Too bad Republicans supported him just because he was a Republican. He surely was NOT a conservative..
He over spent, didnt veto any spending until the very end of his presidency, did nothing to stop illegal immigration, and got us into two wars that reflect the failed military policies of the last 60 years.
